The present project consists in the development of a web platform (the AQUAWEB) for the ecological assessment of streams. The central object of AQUAWEB is the predictive modelling, a statistical approach for the analysis of aquatic communities condition. AQUAWEB will also contain additional tools such as a global database on Portuguese streams or electronic taxonomic keys which can be used by researchers, technicians and environmental authorities.
