2017/04/30: CAMBADA, FCPortugal and ROTA rank 2nd in the Robotics Portuguese Open

The 17th edition of the Portuguese Robotics Open was disputed this year in Coimbra, between the 26th and 30 of April. Seven teams participated in the Middle Size League: three Portuguese and four from foreign countries, in what has been the larger MSL event ever held in Portugal. The CAMBADA team finished the group stage in the first position after a draw by 2-2 with Tech United Eindhoven, the current world champion team. In the final, CAMBADA lost 0-2 to Tech United, in a very balanced game in which the Tech United goalkeeper was the star. In the 3D simulation league FCPortugal (a joint effort between UA and UMinho) also got a second place after losing 1-2 in the final against Magma Offenburg from Germany. Finally, the team ROTA, from IEETA/DETI/UA also got second in the autonomous driving challenge among the five teams that participated in this year event.
