The CARL project studied the interrelations and integration of the four dimensions of the problem of building an intelligent robot: human-robot interaction, sensory-motor skills and perception, decisionmaking capabilities and learning. This integration will allow the development of robots that, instead of being programmed in the classical way, will accept, via a friendly interface, instructions in terms of the concepts familiar to the user. The project paid special attention to human-robot interaction and knowledeg acquisition.
