2017/06/01: IEETA Robotics Team ranks on top 6 among 103 european R&D teams and moves into EuRoC project stage III

TIMAIRIS team, a partnership between University of Aveiro(UA) and the Italian company IMA S.p.A, have just been selected by a scientific evaluation committee to move on to Stage III of the European Robotics Challenges project- EuRoC - (a 22M€ project organized in the form of a contest) among the five teams that participated in the Stage II – Challenge 2 of this project. This project aims the development of applications and technologies to be directly applied to the European industry in the area of safe and cooperative robots able to work together with humans. The phase 2, that now ended, included 3 evaluated tasks: A Benchmark task, a Freestyle task and finally a Showcase task related to the team’s final application. TIMAIRIS ranked 1st in both the Benchmark and Showcase and 2nd in the Freestyle. A total of 103 R&D European teams started this project in stage I.
