About the journal
Methods of Information in Medicine discusses the basic methodology and scientific fundamentals of processing data, information and knowledge in medicine and health care. It publishes original papers, reviews, reports, opinion papers, and editorials in medical informatics, and related disciplines such as medical biometry. Since the Journal's foundation in 1962, progress in information processing methodology and in information and communication technology has greatly changed our societies, and medicine and health care have taken advantage of this progress. Methods of Information in Medicine publishes papers in the whole range of processing data, information and knowledge in medicine and health care, including research in traditional and in new areas of this expanding field. It includes topics such as health information systems and patient records; diagnosis and therapy in health care; biomedical data, signal, and image interpretation; clinical bioinformatics; clinical data analysis and statistical studies; expert systems and knowledge representation; simulation and modeling.
