NETDIAMOND joins a network of national centres of reference with complementary expertizes to address this novel and highly relevant issue: the development of evidence-based therapeutic strategies directed at heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). The research of the IEETA team is centered in two main objectives: 1) Analysis of omics data from myocardial samples – the main goal is to create and conduct a data analisys pipeline that leads to the identification of gene variants, and of gene and protein expression patterns. 2) Data integration, data processing and mining – the objective are (a) the construction of a systems biology view of HFpEF and the role of comorbidities; (b) identification of main pathways and elements in HFpEF and their disturbances with comorbidities; (3) clinical correlation of molecular findings (diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers).
