Brief biography

Raimund Ubar is a professor of computer engineering at Tallinn University of Technology (TTU) in Estonia and the member of Estonian Academy of Sciences. He is also the Head of the Estonian Excellence Centre of Electronic Systems and Biomedical Engineering. Raimund Ubar received his PhD degree in 1971 at the Bauman Technical University in Moscow, and the DSc degree in 1986. His main research interests include computer science, electronics design, design verification, testing, design for testability, fault tolerance. He has published more than 300 papers and six books. He has been involved in 10 European projects in frame of COPERNICUS, ESPRIT, Framework V-VII, and he belongs to the steering or program committees of 15-20 international conferences. Raimund Ubar has given seminars or lectures in 20-25 universities in more than 10 countries. In 1988 he had the Barkhausen Chair at the TU Dresden. He has been working as a visiting professor for a longer period at Linköping and Jönköping Universities in Sweden, TIMA Laboratory in Grenoble, TU Darmstadt in Germany, Politecnico di Torino in Italy. In 1993-1996 he was the Chairman of the Estonian Science Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of the Estonian President. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, SIGDA, TTTC, EAEEIE.
